Jaw Crusher Common Trouble and Trouble Shooting

Trouble One: Jaw Crusher breakdown suddenly.

Reason:
1, discharge opening blocked, it makes jaw crusher overloaded.
2, V-belt loosed, it makes V-belt slipping.
3, Tightening lock loosed, makes no gap between two bearing seat, that will block the eccentric shaft and stop the machine.
4, the voltage is too low to break big stone.
5, bearing damaged.

Solution:
1, clear discharge opening to make the stone flow out freely.
2, adjust or replace V-belt.
3, re-install or replace tightening sleeve.
4, adjust working voltage to make it meet the requirement of jaw crusher.
5, replace bearing.


Trouble two: jaw crusher grooved wheel, movable jaw can run smoothly, but crusher stop working.


Reason:
1, Tightening spring broken.
2, Tie rod broken
3, toggle token off or broken.


Solution:
1, replace tightening spring
2, replace tie rod
3, re-install or replace toggle.


Trouble three: Capacity is
1, The material is over-hard specified in jaw crusher instruction.
2, Incorrect motor cable joint make jaw crusher turn reversely, or making mistake on Y-connection, It should be triangle connection.
3, discharge opening is too small as specified.
4, displacing jaw plate makes Jaw top against each other.
5, voltage is too low
6, the gap between movable jaw and bearing because of abrasion widen. It makes bearing and out ring turning accordingly.

Solution:
1, replace and add more crusher
2, adjust the way of motor cable joint.
3, adjust the discharge opening as specified in the instruction.
4, check distance between teeth, replace jaw plate, and adjust the location of fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate if distance can not meet the standard.
5, adjust voltage to meet need for the jaw crusher.
6, replace bearing or movable jaw.


Trouble four: throb and impact sound from fixed and movable jaw plate when it running.
Reason:
1,tightening bolt of jaw plate loose or token offer
2, discharge opening is too small, two jaw plates impact each other.


Solution:
1, tightening or fully install bolt.
2, adjust the discharge opening to ensure suitable gap between two jaw plates.


Trouble five: Toggle broken down.
1, Jaw crusher over-loaded or over-sized stone feed in.
2, material that can not be crushed via jaw crusher feed in.
3, unbalance between toggle and toggle gasket.
4, foundry goods has serious default in casting
Solution:
1, replace toggle and control the feeding material to avoid over load.
2, replace toggle and take necessary measures to stop non-crushing material feeding in.
3, replace toggle and damaged toggle gasket, install the toggle correctly.
4, replace qualified toggle.


Trouble six: spring breakdown.
Reason:
Narrowing discharge opening without loosing the spring.
Solution:
Replace spring.

Trouble seven:
Reason
1, toggle, toggle gasket is unqualified because user made or purchased by themselves.
2, fixing bolt of adjusting seat loosed.
3, adjusting seat has serious default in casting or welding.
Solution:
1, replace adjusting seat and replace toggle and toggle gasket purchasing from original crusher supplier.
2, replace adjusting seat and tightening adjusting seat bolt.
3, replace adjusting seat.

Trouble eight: eccentric shaft bended or break down.
1, when lifting the machine, eccentric turns on one side which makes it undertake the force on one side, so the eccentric bended.
2, the material need to be crushed is over hard as specified in instruction.
3, crusher works under over loading situation for long time.
4, toggle is unqualified, when non-crushing material fed in, toggle break down to avoid further damage.
5, heat treatment unduly of the eccentric shaft makes it break down in short period.
Solution:
1, replace eccentric shaft and correct the lifting way.
2, replace the eccentric shaft and choose the material that can be crushed by crusher.
3, replace the eccentric shaft and control the feeding capacity or replace right crusher.
4, replace new eccentric shaft. Choose the one with good heat treatment.


Trouble nine: movable jaw break down.
Reason:
1, serious default in casting, such as intensive blowhole
2, use unqualified toggle, toggle gasket. when crusher face great force, toggle can not break down to protect the machine.
3, movable jaw deviated and its bottom parts strike on check plate.
4, spring with no tension force, but without replacement in time.
5, discharge opening is too small as specified.
6, material feeds on one side of the crushing opening or feeds steeply on the movable jaw.
Solution:
1, replace movable jaw.
2, replace movable jaw and toggle and toggle gasket originally from crusher supplier.
3, replace movable jaw and assemble eccentric shaft, bearing, tightening sleeves and movable jaw, replace damaged parts.
4, replace movable jaw and tension spring.
5, replace movable jaw and adjust discharge opening as specified.
6, replace movable jaw and take measures to make sure feeding evenly.


Trouble ten: frame bearing or movable jaw temperature is overtopping.
Reason:
1, no oil or over-irrigate on the bearing.
2, oil hole blocked and can not irrigate oil.
3, the block on flywheel/grooved wheel deviation make the frame bounce.
4, tightening sleeve turns with shaft.
5, bearing or support frame damaged.
Solution:
1, irrigate oil as specified.
2, clear oil pipe
3, adjust the location of flywheel/grooved wheel.
4, take down bearing cover of jaw crusher, tighten lock sleeve, take down flywheel, grooved wheel.
5, replace bearing.

Trouble eleven: flywheel and grooved wheel move left and right.
Reason:
1, hole of flywheel, grooved wheel damaged.
2, Stone rolls into the inside of the wheel, resulting in cracking of flywheel and grooved wheel.
3, casting defect
4, flywheel/grooved wheel tightening sleeve loose.Solution:1) flat key wear, replace the flat key, or replace the eccentric shaft or fly wheel, grooved wheel; 
2) Adding flywheel, grooved wheel shield and replace the eccentric shaft or flywheel, grooved wheel;
3) The replacement of the eccentric shaft or tank round.
4) Re-tight set up sleeve.

Trouble twelve:frame split Reasons:1) casting defects or welding quality defects
Use unqualified toggle, toggle plate, when strong force impact the jaw crusher, the toggle has not broken to protect the crusher.
3) The fixed jaw plate is not fixed, hit the frame; 
4) The foundation of the jaw crusher is not strong enough.
5)  Two bolts on the rack bearing cover loose;6) fixed and movable jaw plate continue to be used when tooth wear;
 7) Due to the eccentric shaft, pin damaged or expansion sleeve loose, the block of wheel dislocation.

Solution:1) remove the original crack defects, correction it by welding, if necessary, replaced with new rack;
 2) Repair or replace the rack and use toggle and toggle gasket originally from crusher supplier.
3) Repair or replacement of a new frame, and set a fixed tooth plate bolts tight; 
4) Repair or replace rack and set rack at the end of bolt tightening, correction levels, strengthen foundation;
5) Repair or replace the new rack, and tighten the two bolts of bearing cover ; 
6) Repair or replace of the new rack, and the timely replacement of jaw plate when it worn out; 
7) Repair or replace rack, pin and bearing or adjust the direction of eccentric shaft.


Trouble Thirteen: Jaw crusher produces percussion at the rear of rack rearReasons:1) did not tighten the rod, the toggle plate hit movable jaw and adjusting seat, toggle gasket. 
2) friction between rod and the jaw hook; 
3) impact between spring and spring seat.Solution:1) fastening rod; 
2) Check the spring tension
 3) Adjust spring seat in the right place and tighten the rod in the right position.


Trouble fourteen: jaw crusher frame serious bounceReasons:1)  anchor bolts loose or broken; 2) fly, grooved wheel weights position deviate; 
3) the foundation is not strong, no isolation measures.Solution:1) Tightening bolts or replace broken bolts; 
2) Remove the cover plate of fly, grooved wheel slot, loosen the fly, grooved wheel sleeve bolt, align the fly, grooved wheel weights position, then set up tightening sleeve bolts;3) The reinforcement of foundation, plus ties, or rubber mats, etc
